Story of my life.

I ended up at the casino on friday night. Figured it for something to do, and I had some money bugeted to spend on entertainment, so off I went. Sat down at a machine and put a 20 in. Bet "max bet" and realized that I was sitting at a .50/1$ machine, and I just bet 5 bucks. Great. Kicked the bet down to 50 cents cause I wanted to sit there and enjoy myself for a while. 3 hands into my 50 cent bets I hit a friggin royal flush. At 5 dollars, that's like a grand or 2 in winnings, at 50 cents, its a lowly 100 bucks. Anyway, the casino was feeling generous on friday, I won 240 bucks and had the discipline to cash out and leave while I was ahead.

I don't expect those kinds of winnings often, but its nice to have 240 bucks that can be spent in any way I want cause its not in my budget.

The thing about gambling is that it can be done as entertainment, it doesn't have to be a vice. A night at the movies is an easy 15 bucks, add in dinner and you're bound to spend at least 40 bucks. A night at the bar can be fairly costly as well. That same money when spent "wisely" in a casino can provide hours of entertainment. Its the people who are willing to blow their life's savings hoping to win big that get themselves in trouble, and fortunately, I don't need to hit big, as I'm fairly stable in my economic situation.

I had the stupidest date of my life last night. I hate dating, its idiotic, I could have taken the money I spent on dinner and won 200 more dollars at the casino, or I could have just lost the money and I would have been just as far ahead.
