I've decided
that Yu will start the story at 13 years old instead of 8. I need him to be older later in the story so that his interactions with other characters are more believable, and I don't want to do a "5 years later" chapter.
Right now, I think I'm just slopping the story on paper. The rough idea is in my head and I know how it is going to progress, but the writing won't be fine tuned until the story is all out there. Spending countless hours rewriting the early chapters won't do me any good. I think its better to get away from it, so when I go back and reread it, I'll be able to read it with a fresh perspective and pick up any hiccups that might occur in the flow of the story.
Since its all in my head as i'm writing it, it all makes sense to me at the time.

That's the way to do it, son. Get it on paper. But remember to keep in mind the things I told you. It will help you in the rewrite stage. The more you practice it the better you will become at it.
